            Out of concern for our members and guests, the Executive Committee of Region 14 Arabian Horse Association has decided to postpone the meeting and Awards Banquet scheduled for March 14, 2020.

            The World Health Organization has now designated the coronavirus to be a world pandemic. In Ohio, the Governor has issued an order prohibiting all mass gatherings of 100 or more people (excluding places of worship, airports, hospitals, etc.) and closing all K-12 schools for at least 3 weeks beginning the end of school on this Monday, March 16, 2020. The Director of the Ohio Department of Health and the Ohio Governor are also recommending at least 6 feet of social distancing.

           The Governor of Kentucky has asked that churches and large events postpone or cancel their events.

            The NBA, the NHL, and the MLS, have suspended their seasons. The NCAA’s basketball March Madness has been cancelled.

             A great deal of planning and effort has been expended to put on this event, and a meeting would be very beneficial. However, the Executive Committee feels that the health and safety of our members and guests outweighs the benefits.

             Once this crisis has ended, we can then look at the possibility of re-scheduling the meeting and banquet to another date. It may be difficult to rearrange, and may take some additional sacrifices of times and schedules, but we are confident that our members will be understanding and supportive.
